High-Functioning Anxiety and Burnout in Singapore’s Executive Class

Executive burnout recovery in Singapore starts with an honest question: what is it costing you to be this reliable?

If you lead a region from Marina Bay, Raffles Place or Tanjong Pagar, the day doesn’t end when you leave the office. Singapore sits in the middle of the time zones that matter, so your morning begins with Sydney and Tokyo, your afternoon belongs to Mumbai and Jakarta, and your evening goes to London and New York. Your body never gets a clear signal that the working day is over.

This is where high-functioning anxiety takes hold. Everything looks fine from the outside, because you are good at coping. Inside, your system stays braced, and the cost shows up as light sleep, a clenched jaw, a short fuse, or a mind that won’t stop scanning for what could go wrong.

Did you know? A 2025 Jobstreet by SEEK survey found that nearly half of workers in Singapore reported feeling burnt out or exhausted, including people who said they were happy at work. Enjoying your work and running on empty can go together.

Why Singapore’s Highest Performers Quietly Lose Themselves

Singapore rewards achievement reliably. A strong record opens the next door, and the next, and it becomes easy to keep climbing long after you’ve stopped asking where the ladder leads.

In a close-knit business community where reputations travel fast, many leaders also feel they can’t afford to be seen struggling. So they carry it alone. They keep performing, and some part of them goes quiet.

That is often what sits underneath burnout. It isn’t only the hours. It is the gap between the life you are leading and the person you are.

Your body registers that gap before your mind admits it. When your nervous system is locked in survival mode, you can’t think clearly about what you want. When it settles, the answers tend to get simpler.

Did you know? Your body clock depends on light and routine. Repeated late calls and flights across time zones can disrupt your circadian rhythm, which is linked to poorer sleep, mood and concentration.

My background is in biology and chemical and biochemical engineering, and I’ve spent years training in Eastern bodywork and contemplative traditions across Nepal, India, Thailand, Cambodia, Bali and the United States. I bring both together: scientific precision and ancient practice, grounded in how the body actually works.

Stress Management for Executives, Starting With Physiology

Somatic and nervous system work. Breathwork, bodywork and somatic practice to shift your body out of chronic bracing. Heart rate variability, the variation in time between heartbeats, tends to be lower under chronic stress, and it improves as your system recovers.

Hypnotherapy. Working with the patterns below awareness that disturb your sleep and focus.

Sound and breath. A direct route out of vigilance, felt by many leaders in the first session.

Executive coaching. Boundaries, decisions and sustainable leadership, built on a calmer body. If you’ve been searching for executive coaching in Singapore, this is coaching that begins with physiology rather than productivity tips.

Why Work With Me

Years of Practice. A Practitioner You Can Trust With Discretion.

Somatic Therapist Thailand

I’m a Canadian-born integrative somatics practitioner and executive coach, based in Southeast Asia. I’ve trained more than 10,000 people and worked privately with over 1,000 clients around the world.

I started in science, with biology and chemical and biochemical engineering, and I still want to know what is actually happening in your body. I’ve taught stress and resilience inside companies like Intel, Bosch, Nike, Crayola and Dräger. I’ve learned from masters across Nepal, India, Thailand, Cambodia, Bali and the United States. Today I work as a visiting practitioner at elite wellness resorts like Chiva-Som, Kamalaya, Four Seasons and Datai Langkawi.

Here is what all of that has taught me. Capable, driven people carry far more than anyone sees. The way back is rarely more effort. It is a new relationship with your body, and an honest look at the life you’re living.

Most of my clients can’t be seen struggling. They can’t take medical leave, and they don’t need another thing to explain. They need quiet, effective work that respects their privacy and their intelligence.

I work as part of a team. I always look at your wider circle of care, and I will refer you out when someone else is better placed to help. Trained in Zen Leadership, FEBI coaching, Reiki, sound healing, yoga, breathwork and hypnotherapy. Certified Trauma Support Specialist and Certified Resilience Professional.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I work with you from Singapore?

Yes. Most of my work with Singapore leaders is online, with the option of joining me in person at a regional residency.

I lead across several time zones. Will sessions fit?

That’s the situation I work with most. We schedule around your real week and keep sessions short enough to sustain.

How is this different from executive coaching in Singapore?

Traditional coaching works mainly on behavior and decisions. I begin with your nervous system, because a body stuck in stress limits how well any strategy works. Coaching is part of the work, but it sits on a physiological foundation.

Is this a burnout treatment?

No. My work is educational and supportive, and it complements care from your physician or mental health professional. If you’re experiencing severe symptoms, please see a qualified medical professional.

How private is it?

Discretion is central to how I work. We agree on how your information is handled at the start.

Do I have to talk through everything?

No. A lot of the work happens through the body, breath and nervous system, so you don’t need to relive or explain everything to make progress.

You’ve built something impressive. You deserve to feel well inside it.

If you’ve been living a life that doesn’t quite feel like yours, your body already knows. The way back isn’t more effort. It’s more honesty, and a nervous system that is finally safe enough to tell you the truth.

What Singapore leaders often begin to notice:

  • Deeper, more restorative sleep. Dropping off more easily across a busy week, and waking with energy that holds into the evening calls.

  • A steadier baseline. Fewer sharp reactions, and a body that stays calm when pressure lands.

  • Clearer thinking. Better focus and sounder judgment, because your brain is no longer working under constant alarm.

  • Less physical tension. A softer jaw and shoulders, easier breathing and a quieter gut.

  • Better decisions and boundaries. The ability to say yes and no from clarity, not fear.

  • More presence with the people you love. Patience and warmth at home as well as in the boardroom.

  • A reconnection with yourself. A growing sense of what you want, what matters and what is true for you.

Every person’s physiology and circumstances are different, so results vary. What I can promise is a process built around you.

Places are limited, because this work only works when it’s personal.

Fear closes. Love opens. Space is where we live.

Some of my Happy Customers

I had two hypnosis sessions with Brad. After both sessions I felt very good and light. I have the feeling that a new direction has really taken place in my subconscious. I see myself differently and have felt lighter since then. I also become aware much more quickly when I am talking badly to myself and it's much easier for me to be gentle with myself and that is definitely progress. Self-love was a big issue for me. It also feels like I have more energy and it is easier for me to tackle tasks than before. After the first feeling of lightness came sadness for a while, without me knowing where it came from. I'm happy and grateful that I had these sessions with Brad and  recommend you to see what benefits it will bring to you.
